Have you heard the phrase "Sphere of Influence?" I first heard the phrase when I studied Real Estate. WikiPedia describes it as "When talking in corporate terms, the sphere of influence of a business, organization or group can show its power and influence in the decisions of other business/organisation/group."
My layman's translation is gathering your friends, colleagues and their friends and colleagues in one location to create a business network to help each other grow a.k.a. business referrals.
